The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
You see so many homeschooling blogs where the parent seems SOOOO happy to be homeschooling their little angel. They’ll have posts about how to “Hang In There” when it gets tough, but there’s always this Mr. Rogers’ish optimism in them, isn’t there?
Well, I’m here to tell you….
Homeschooling isn’t easy. Not. At. All.
In fact, it’s really, and I mean REALLY hard. You have days where you want to quit. Days where you’re crying in a corner asking yourself WHY?! Why am I doing this to myself?

Is it really worth all of THIS?!
Short answer…. Probably. Maybe?

I mean….
Yeah, (sigh) it is.
In spite of all of the hard days, the arguing, the time spent TRYING to get them to do what you’re asking, it is worth it. Every long, exhausting, grueling, painful second.
The first time you see them make a connection between the real world and what you’ve been teaching them, you’ll know. It’s all been worth it.
Example: We were watching Monsters Inc. last year while we were learning about Asia in geography. When the movie got to this part:
Monkey chimes in, “Mommy! The Himalayas! They’re above India!”
Those are the moments people! The ones that make you feel like your doing something important. Because, well, YOU ARE!
So, even though it SUCKS a lot of the time and you are frustrated and tired, stick with it. It WILL be worth it in the end. Probably….
What you’ll find here is everything I know (or at least think I know) about homeschooling. We take it one day at a time. Come with us on our wonderfully clusterfucked journey.

It’s gonna be a wild ride!
